Carom: Redefining Experiences through Social App Name Creation

Labbrand created a distinctive social app name for Carom that aimed to revolutionize social interactions and networking among successful professionals. The chosen name, Carom, successfully encapsulated the brand’s purpose and values, resulting in a dynamic and engaging app experience.

Challenge

Carom is an app that creates opportunities for those who would like to meet like-minded people and boost successful professionals’ social lives. The project was to create a new app offering high-quality experiences and generating social interactions via a selective network of people.  

The name had to be able to differentiate the brand from its competitors, elevating its value proposition to match with the audiences’ needs.

Solution

Through stakeholder interviews and an analysis of the existing social app landscape, a comprehensive understanding of the app’s target audience and market positioning was gained. Several potential names were considered, but “Carom” (/ˈkæɹəm/), emerged as the most suitable choice. In billiards, a carom refers to a shot where the ball contacts two or more balls on the table, symbolizing the brand’s purpose of facilitating meaningful connections and social interactions. The name Carom was selected for its energy, impact, and ability to create a lasting impression with its dynamic rhythm.

Results

Carom, the social app, was launched in October 2022, providing a platform for professionals to connect and create valuable experiences with like-minded individuals. The chosen brand name effectively communicated the app’s purpose and resonated with the target audience. Carom successfully stood out in the competitive market and gained attention for its unique approach to social networking. The app is available on iOS and Android platforms, and its mission to connect people and enrich their social lives continues to thrive.
