Labbrand Presents at ESOMAR Asia Pacific 2017 on Facilitating the Innovation Process with Research

SHANGHAI, May 22, 2017 – Labbrand gave an inspiring presentation “Streamlining the Innovation Process to Maximize Efficiency” on stage at ESOMAR Asia Pacific 2017 held on May 17th-19th in Shanghai, China.

With the advent of digital innovation in research, consumers have evolved from closely watched subjects to partners, collaborators and co-creators. Inspired by an impactful product innovation project Labbrand had designed and conducted together with Unilever, the presentation on May 18th explores the role of market research in facilitating the innovation process.

Given the mission to supercharge China-specific innovations created for the market by the stakeholders, Chingling Ng, Research Director at Labbrand, believes that there is a need for agility within innovation to keep up with the fast changing consumer landscape and the fast adaptation of smaller brands and corporations. A goal in this process is to shorten innovation with leaner processes in order to get ideas to market in a shorter turnaround.

“Research is changing its role from being the source of data, to facilitating exchanges between consumers and brands and within the client organization to make true impact!” said Chingling.

“With the agility of local players in introducing product innovations and engaging activations, the role of this project was to create something for China, by China, in China that can make global MNCs more agile and competitive.”
