Labbrand Paris Presents at Boot Camp CES Asia 2018 on Chinese Naming

Labbrand Paris Presents at Boot Camp CES Asia 2018 on Chinese Naming Overview

PARIS, May 3, 2018 – Labbrand Paris gave a presentation themed “Why Your Brand Needs a Chinese Name” at Boot Camp CES Asia 2018 held at the headquarters of Business France in Paris on 24 April. The event, organized by Business France and La French Tech, has the objective to provide insights from the Chinese market and share testimonials of past CES Asia Exhibitions for technology SMEs in France. The presentation was given by Nicolas Farman, General Manager of Labbrand’s office in Paris, and talked about the reasons of having a Chinese brand name in order to export to the Chinese market. Professionals specializing in business law, e-commerce, among others participated in the event, including National Institute of Industrial Property (France), JD.com France, etc.

With the development of cross-border e-commerce, opportunities broadened more than ever for French brands, especially for small and medium-sized companies, being able to reach Chinese consumers from their host country. Nicolas stated the importance of having a Chinese name before a brand entered the Chinese market, in order to boost the brand’s cultural relevance with the local clientele, enhance competitiveness and protect the brand’s trademark in the Chinese market.

“It’s not easy to have an inspired Chinese name that balances the business objectives, market environment, linguistic codes and cultural aspects. However, it’s the very first step that cannot be ignored to build your brand in this market.” Said Nicolas Farman.
