Labbrand Interviewed by The Times on Design Innovation in Packaging
SHANGHAI, 9 AUGUST, 2018 – Labbrand was featured in the world-renowned British daily national newspaper The Times. Melyssa Koh, Managing Director Asia at Labbrand Singapore and Anabelle Hourriez, Managing Director at Labbrand were interviewed for a special report on the future of packaging.
Created in 1785, The Times has been an integral and important part of the political and social structure of Great Britain for much more than a century. Based in London, The Times is the 1st newspaper to have borne that name, lending it to numerous other papers around the world, including The Times of India and The New York Times. The newspaper covers a wide range of topics including domestic and foreign news, culture and art, finance and business, etc.
In the article, Melyssa Koh comments that the rise of ecommerce in the Asian region means new opportunities in innovative packaging design, rather than a brand’s appearance on a physical shelf space. “Unboxing becomes part of the experience,” explains Melyssa, pointing out that brands like Singapore-based jewelry business The Mindful Company incorporate inspirational quotation cards, and layers of wrapping to build excitement and connection.
The special report on The Future of Packaging was published by the British publishing house Raconteur in The Times on July 18th, 2018. Read the full article online.
