Volvo Trademark Holding AB, a subsidiary of the Swedish Volvo cars, has recently declared that they plan to take action in a lawsuit against Foton Lovol Heavy Industries Co., LTD. because of name similarity. The case will be focused on the trademark issue.

Volvo has also seen two other name similarities in other Chinese trucking companies but has decided to take action against Foton Lovol Heavy Industries Co., LTD., only when the Chinese manufacturer of construction machinery began its strong global expansion.

Foton Lovol has claimed that its name has nothing to do with Volvos name. Lovol and Volvo seem to be similar names in our book. Only the courts ruling will tell us who has got the naming right.
