Sony to Build an Eco-friendly Brand

Traditionally targeted to a market that seeks best quality and advanced technology, Sony is now adding another attribute to its offering: eco-friendliness.

In fact, the world-famous Japanese electronic brand has recently launched its “Green Glove” service. This is not only an eco-friendly service, but also a way to make Sony step closer to its customers. Green Glove offers in-home delivery service to all the consumers purchasing Bravia high-definition televisions that are 32 inches or larger. The installation team that comes to hook up the new system takes also away you old TV and dispose of it in an environmental responsible way.

As the company declares “what we believe: working to build a sustainable environment”, Sony is clearly doing its share to build a brand “for the next generation”. In Cooperation with Waste Management Recycle America, the largest recycle manage corporation in the USA, the “Sony Take back Recycling Program” is not only for the benefit of buying customers.

In fact, whoever wishes to dispose of its old TVs in an eco-friendly way can search sony.com/recycle for Waste Management Recycle America drop off locations.

"Sony is in the forefront of industry recycling efforts by providing consumers another way to conveniently and responsibly dispose of their old electronics," said Mike Fasulo, Sony Electronics' chief marketing officer and head of the company's corporate social responsibility efforts, in a statement.

By taking up its CSR into this recycling program, Sony gives consumers the opportunity to do the right thing while getting for itself an eco-friendly edge on attracting and retaining eco-responsible consumers.
