An Old Dog's New Tricks

The 50-year-old US footwear manufacturer Hush Puppies, best known for its casual shoes, is meeting its middle-age milestone. Now, the company is taking his golden celebration as a launch pad to refresh the brand among Asia Pacific consumers.

Hush Puppies will not give up its casual and comfortable personality, but apparently it will blend these core values with fashion and style in order to appeal to younger consumers.

According, the company has launched this year a series of branding activities aimed at changing the perception Asia-Pacific consumers have of Hush Puppies: fun, fashion, relaxation and a younger attitude are the values the brand stands for nowadays.

To support the refreshed image, retail, product and packaging design as well as renewed point of sales and product displays will be reinterpreted through this trendy wave in order to upgrade the brand status among young trendsetters.

Hush Puppies’ quality and comfort have made the brand ranking among the top five in the casual footwear segment worldwide. But these very same values have also make people have a hard time associating it with fashion. Now, the company is trying to brand itself as a casual and stylish brand - we have to say it, it’s never too late for an old dog to learn new tricks.
