“有”[yǒu] means exist, possess. In ancient China,
this character was written as“ ”1, and composed by 2 parts. The upper part“ ”represents a hand, while the lower part“ ”is a piece of meat. The 2 parts combined together conveyed initially the idea of “holding a piece a piece of meat”, clearly meaning “being rich” “possessing some goods”.slates as “to have” and it is therefore frequently used in people’s every day life. “啊”[ā] does not really mean anything but it is used as an exclamation to express surprise, to emphasize or to stress what it as just been said. “啊”[ā] can also be divided in 2 parts: “ロ” and “阿”. “ロ” meaning mouth, refers to the physical expression of surprise. “阿” used to represent the “a” sound, indicates the character pronunciation.
“啊” is used in the colloquial language at the end of a sentence or expression as for instance: “他跑得真快啊”[tā pǎo dé zhēn kuài à; how fast he runs!], “好啊”[hǎo ā; good, no problem]
