Jumeirah taps into China market with a Chinese brand name

The Chinese high-end hotel market is going to see a new addition to the already rich selection of luxury hotels the country offers. The famous hotel group Jumeriah, running the world-known luxury hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, is going to open its first hotel in downtown Shanghai by August 2008.

As Serge Zaalof, Vice Chairman in charge of operations in the Asia-Pacific region stated, what will distinguish their China flag-ship property by the countless number of foreign invested hotels recently introduced on the local market will be its name “Zun Ya”. This name has an underlining meaning of elegance and preciousness which very well reflects the hotel’s brand positioning and its intention let Chinese consumers know the Jumeriah group better.

“Zun Ya” will open the doors to the great expansion plans of the Jumeirah group in Asia, and we believe that the choice of this beautiful name will certainly help in building the brand image on the local market.
