CMCC tapping Pakistani market under brand name "ZONG"

China Mobile Communications Corporation chairman and CEO Wang Jianzhou has announced on the 5th of April the company’s plan to launch its first offshore mobile phone network under the brand name of ZONG.

Parent company of China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile phone company by subscribers, CMCC had first bought the local mobile operator Paktel LTD last year, renamed it CMPak Ltd. and invested several hundreds of million of US dollars in its improvement.
Mr Zafar Usmani, CEO of CMPak Ltd said that “ZONG will become a part of people’s hearts, their minds and will bring about a change in their lives that every one desired but few thought would be possible”. The brand tag line, in fact, states: say it all or “Sub Keh Dou” .
That is what the new name wants to convey. And that is what ZONG brand strategy wants to communicate to people: that the newly formed company is in Pakistan to stay and to make people communicate at will. By using different languages and normal daily quotes for the development of the brand’s tag lines the company has indeed reinforced this message covering different aspects of communication among people.
